God is looking for people who have nothing to loose. Like the four leprous men in today’s reading who would die if they entered the city because of famine and would either case die if they surrendered to the Syrian army. Have you been in a situation like this – between the devil and the deep blue sea? In those days, lepers were a rejected class of people. Yet they did a very remarkable thing, they stepped out in faith and forged ahead into the unknown “walking by faith and not by sight” God too worked on their behalf causing the Syrian army to flee in panic. Sometimes the best way to go – is the way ahead and not backwards. Have you see an army march backwards? Rise up child of God. It’s not the time to wallow in self pity thinking how people rejected you and hurt you. It’s no time to nurse your wounds. It is time to march forward. Paul the Apostle says, “I do not count myself to have apprehended (understood everything); but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal….” (Philippians 3:13, 14a)
