Anointing
And no one pours new wine into old wine skins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. (Luke 5: 37)
In the Old Testament we see God calling Moses His servant on the Mount Sinai to give commandments to the people of Israel. When the people saw that Moses took long time to come down from the mountain, they started grumbling against God and compelled Aaron, brother of Moses, to make an idol of gold for them to worship. When God saw His people rebel against Him, His anger rose against them and was about to destroy them but Moses interceded on behalf of them. God told Moses, ‘Henceforth my presence will not go with those people, instead I will send my angel. If I go with them, my presence might destroy them’. Many people are hungry for God’s presence and anointing but our Sovereign Lord knows that these people are ignorant. God’s anointing is completely holy and divine. He cannot pour it out into the vessel which is not fully prepared to carry it. If a person’s heart is unclean, the anointing will destroy that person’s life.
